An Introduction
Hello my friend. Thank you for taking the time to come to this blog post. I want to take some time to introduce myself, more personally, to you. As you read this, I invite you to reflect on your own life’s story. I encourage you to listen to the whispers and nudges that you may come up encouraging you to take steps to elevate yourself, perhaps in a way that I myself have done.
I have two Master’s degrees; one in Sociology and another in Education. Not only that, but I also have certifications in Positive Psychology and as a Mindful Professional. I am a lifelong learner, always growing and expanding my horizons. Recently I worked with an amazing intuitive coach who taught me ways to be more in tuned with my cosmic team, — which includes angels, ancestral guides, and my, of course, my higher self. While I was brought up in a Catholic household, I identify as an omnist, as I recognize and deeply respect all religions of the world.
I have been married for over 27 years to the love of my life, whom I often call, my rock, my love, my life, my Russ. Together we have raised our three amazing children; two boys (Luke and Alex) and a girl (Ariana) all of whom are well on their way to their own successes. I am a huge animal lover and have always had a home with multiple pets — currently I have three dogs and a cat. I live in a picturesque ridge and valley province of the Appalachian Mountains — known as “Happy Valley” — in central Pennsylvania.
During my adult life I held various jobs, in retail, in big corporation, as a techie, and as a teacher and mentor. The jobs did not fulfill my happiness bucket, as they brought me only fleeting moments of satisfaction. However, the underlying piece that always lifted my soul was when I was in service to others.
A Condensed History
The condensed version of my life’s story is that I lived a life with a series of good things mixed up with bad things. The bad always stayed in the forefront of my mind. I used to describe myself as the saddest, happiest person I knew, for my thoughts always focused on the sadness and the despair I felt.
But deep inside me, I was truly a vivacious, friendly, happy person. After living a life ravaged with doubt, anger, and extreme sadness, I became exhausted — mentally and physically. I felt like I was at my wits end. I felt that things were getting too late for me. I felt I was too old to make any meaningful or significant changes. In other words, I lived numb. However, deep inside me, I knew I was meant to be here, I knew I was meant to experience the life I had lived so far, I knew that I had a stronger purpose.
By committing to myself and taking inspired action each day, I began to see and live my life differently. I noticed more of the good stuff and the abundance that surrounded me. Now, I am totally comfortable in my skin. The darkness that once controlled my life is so small, smaller than a dust speck in fact, it is pretty unrecognizable. To learn more about my journey and how I made significant changes and transformed myself to living my purpose and living a life filled with meaning and fulfillment, request a copy of my e-book: My Heartfelt Five.
"Sensitive"
One of the words used to describe me, throughout my life, is sensitive.
It took many years for me to understand why I was so sensitive, why so many saw me as sensitive, and to know that my sensitivity was not a bad thing. Equally, it took many years for me to learn that my extreme sensitivity and the way I could innately feel and know emotions of living things around me had a name; I am an empath.
It wasn’t until my forties that I learned to live my life more fully, freely, and happily as an empath. For those of you who are wondering, as an empath I have a unique ability to strongly feel what another person — or animal — is feeling around me.
In short, I am attuned to the emotions and energies of those around me. This is one of my key strengths, which has benefitted me to successfully help those around me, especially as a mid-life success coach. As an empath, I intuitively understand how another is feeling, and have the ability to be completely open, supportive, and encouraging to positively and authentically guide others to raise their energetic vibrations and live fuller, more meaningful, and happier lives.
In a nutshell, this is me.
- A mother
- A wife
- A fur-mom
- An omnist
- An empath
- Educated and still learning
- A Mindful Professional
- An Awakener
- A mid-life success coach
